A bunch of former Southeast High football players played key roles in leading Western Illinois to a 45-0 romp over Valparaiso, which happens to be the school current Noles head coach Paul Maechtle graduated from.
Todd Speight, whose brother Dyron is Southeast’s current quarterback, had 84 all purpose yards. The senior caught two passes for 38 yards, returned three punts for 29 and had a 17 yard kickoff return.
Defensive back Kieron James, another Southeast alumnus, had three tackles. Other former Noles who played were Enock Presendieu, who started at offensive tackle and Charles Chestnut, a sophomore receiver.
