Southeast guard E. Reginald Smalls (Reggie Smalls) is the highest rated public school player in Manatee County, according to Florida Hoops.com The basketball website has Smalls ranked 83d among the best 100 basketball players in the state. The highest from the Manatee-Sarasota County area is North Port High forward Kasey, who is ranked 16th and has signed with UCF.
The 6-1, 185 pound Smalls leads Southeast (20-4) in scoring (18.4 ppg) and assists (3.8 apg) and is third in rebounding (3.6 rpg). The only other Seminole in double figures is sophomore Antonio Ray (12.4 pg)
The number one rated player in the state is Winter Park guard Austin Rivers (son of Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers), who has signed with Duke.
