Chris Hart hopes to continue career at Webber

Chris Hart, who has made the college campus rounds since he left Southeast, says he hopes to be at Webber University (for his senior year in the fall of 2011.

The quarterback was having a productive season last year at Towson University when he was suspended. Working out last week at Southeast, Hart called it a misunderstanding.

The 6-4, 220 pound right hander started six games for Towson (1-7), throwing for 1,019 yards and nine touchdowns and was the leading rusher with 518 yards (4.6 avg).

Hart was suspended and eventually released from the program for what was called violation of team rules, but Towson head coach Rob Ambrose would not elaborate on the situation.

Hart came to Towson from Georgia Military College where he led the Bulldogs in 2009 to a 6-4 record rushing for 362 yards with three touchdowns and completed 80 of 176 passes for 1,060 yards with 22 TD passes and 12 interceptions.

Hart was named Gulf South Conference Freshman of The Year at Valdosta State when he threw for 1,841 yards and 19 touchdowns and ran for 243 yards.

Webber, located in Babson Park, is an NAIA school that plays in the Sun Conference.
