Shed Haynes looking to play next season

It became official this week, but days with the University of South Florida basketball program essentially ended awhile ago when Bulls head coach made offers to two guards he coveted.

Call it a mutual agreement, Heath had no scholarships available and with Haynes wanting more playing time he was the logical one to go along with teammate Mike Burwell.

James Haynes, former Palmetto head football coach, said he is son is trying to hook on with a Division II team so he can play his final season.

It’s another reminder that scholarships are only for a year at time and a school has no legal obligation to renew it. Taking over those scholarships are Blake Nash and Anthony Collins.

Things just didn’t work out for the former Palmetto High standout, who played one season at State College of Florida and Lackawanna Junior College before joining the Bulls.
