Tevin Bryant shines in WKU scrimmage

When Tevin Bryant was a senior at Braden River he came out of nowhere to lead the Pirates in rushing and turned himself into one of the best running backs in the Manatee-Sarasota County area.

Could the hard nose inbetween the tackles bulldozer be doing the same thing at Western Kentucky University?

Bryant walked on last year and is still without a scholarship, but he showed WKU head coach Willie Taggart in a recent that he is a person to keep an eye on.

In the Hilltoppers first scrimmage of the season Bryant rushed for 108 yards and scored two touchdowns on runs of 10 and 25 yards.

Bryant needs to work on his ball security, but Taggart, the former Manatee High quarterback great said he was impressed with his performance and effort.

The 5-, 222 Bryant took a redshirt season last year as a freshman. In his senior year at Braden River he rushed for 1,650 yards with 16 touchdowns averaging close to six yards per carry though opposing defenses knew he was getting the ball on nearly every play.
