Good year for East Manatee boys basketball

Despite getting ousted in the first round of the region playoffs, it was a good year for East Manatee boys basketball.

Both Braden River and Lakewood Ranch set single season records for victories with 19 and 20 respectively and the Pirates (BRiver) won the program's first district championship.

Braden River has its entire starting lineup returning and most of its roster. The only key loss is senior Reggie Baity. Lakewood Ranch loses its starting backcourt in Jordan Baker and Tim Greenamoyer, but has one of the area's top big men returning in 6-7 junior Brian Cobb.
